... a life that touches others goes on forever ...

Losing a loved one is surely the toughest thing we will ever go through in life. Although I have experienced loss before, the loss of my husband changed my life and tested me in ways I’ve never before had to deal with.  Beyond heartbroken and afraid, I was very unsure how to navigate through the emotional process.  Creating this site helped me find a way around all the blinding pain and sadness I was experiencing. As I continue to climb through grief’s many layers, I am feeling more hopeful and have found peace. If you find yourself at this pivotal place in your life, I hope you will reach out and allow yourself to heal, too.

I’d like this site to serve as a portal of positivity & light; providing a safe place to seek & find comfort. It was my intention this be shared with those mourning a loved one’s passing, but I have come to realize there are many kinds of personal loss just as profound. So, Whether it be a loss of a limb, loss of self in a destructive relationship, a divorce or break up, loss of home and all that is owned and so on, the loss of someone or something precious can cause a traumatic life-changing event, triggering grief. And so, my range of vision has broadened.

So unsure what my next steps were to be, I discovered ways to cope with and step away from the apathy of grief thanks to outside counseling and other sources which helped me greatly – it just had to be on my terms and at my own pace. We never get over the loss of loved ones, but I now know that the grief lessens as I move forward and trust that where I am headed is the right path for me. For now, this feels right – creating this forum.

However you wish to contribute whether it’s posting a picture of your beloved on the Memory Lane Board, engaging me to create a remembrance keepsake for you or posting comments and stories, I look forward to shared comfort and inspiration. Let’s turn the light back on in our lives.  I believe with every fiber of my being we are here with a purpose to be served. As survivors, we have beautiful lives to continue living … I am healing and just maybe, this can help you heal too.

Contact: The most efficient way to contact me is to email me at remembermehdw@gmail.com.  I will make every attempt to respond to you within 24 hours and often, sooner. I ask that in your email, you leave a phone number and a time of day best to reach you for a brief consultation so we can discuss your wishes and all details, such as names, dates and any other particulars that will enhance and personalize. I will be happy to make some suggestions, should you be interested and will confirm all we discuss in writing before I begin the memorial(s) to safeguard against any misspelling or anything else I may have misunderstood.  We can discuss timelines then, as well.
